Parijat, I Continuously Remember You

These days, I find myself thinking of you every moment. Parijat, sometimes you feel within me, sometimes I feel within you, as if our blood is mingled together. Though I have never met your strong, fleshy body in person and have only imagined it, the mirage of dreaming to see you up close still lingers in my mind. I long to capture the scent of even one finger of your physical form to fill my being with light and determination.

Though you left this world prematurely, I still feel your smile beside me. Observing your long-suffering body, never defeated by chronic illness, I learn how you conceal your pain and suffering. When your heart screams in anguish and your words turn bitter in sorrow, I wonder how you hide that pain. Despite the absence of any power, I want to understand how you maintained unwavering self-respect.

Being a woman, you and my generation have endured countless baseless character attacks. Women continue to struggle to attain humanity in this dark earth, confronting so-called scholarly men around them, just as you did in your time. The fiery tests imposed to prove yourself, though perhaps fewer, still persist. Time passes without you, but harsher days have yet to come. The struggle for freedom and dreams continues in this turmoil. I have not been defeated, Parijat, but my dear friends and daughters are exhausted. A small legacy of your courage, the vow to conquer the open skies of revolution, and your intense desire for liberation flow boundlessly within me, transforming into an unshakable resolve.
