Thai Catfish Destroyed in India Following Ban

In Nagpur, India, the banned ‘Thai Catfish’ has been destroyed. Raids were conducted across 11 ponds to prevent these fish from reaching the market. The breeding, farming, and sale of this species are prohibited in India.

Authorities have reported destroying over 36 tons of these fish using a scientific method involving bleaching powder. The fish are considered unsafe for human consumption.
