Ratuwamai Municipality Pledges 4 Million NPR, Biratnagar Metropolitan City Announces 2.551 Million NPR for Flood Relief

September 28, Biratnagar – Ratuwamai Municipality in Morang has announced a donation of 4 million Nepalese Rupees to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund for those affected by the floods in Rasuwa. The decision was made during the executive meeting held on Thursday, where it was agreed that both employees and elected representatives would contribute an amount equivalent to seven days’ salary, totaling 4 million NPR for the relief fund.

According to the executive committee’s decision, elected representatives and officers will each contribute seven days’ salary to the relief fund. Officers in teaching positions and assistant-level staff will contribute five days’ salary, while assistant-level teachers and employees below that level will contribute three days’ salary. Mayor Nagendra Prasad Singh Gangai explained these details.

Meanwhile, Biratnagar Metropolitan City has decided to contribute 2,551,000 NPR to the relief fund. Out of this, 1.1 million NPR will be provided from the Disaster Management Fund. The remaining amount will be collected from the allowances of elected representatives and monthly salaries of the city’s staff, the metropolitan office informed.
