Shikhar Municipality of Doti Decides to Provide Additional NPR 2 Million for Flood Relief Efforts

September 2, Doti – The Shikhar Municipality in Doti has decided to contribute an additional NPR 2 million to support rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-affected areas of Bhote Koshi. In a meeting held on Wednesday, the municipal executive committee resolved to deposit an extra NPR 2 million into the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund to aid flood victims. Earlier, on August 28, the municipality had announced a donation of NPR 200,000 for relief activities.

During the recent meeting, the municipality also determined that NPR 2.2 million, collected from the September salaries of municipal representatives, various offices, schools, health institutions, as well as permanent, contractual, and daily wage employees, health workers, and teachers, would be contributed to the disaster relief fund, according to Chief of Municipality, Dirghabahadur Balayar. Additionally, the municipality has decided to provide NPR 100,000 in assistance to the family of Deepak Mahar from Shikhar Municipality-4, who is missing following the flood in Rasuwa, to support search and rescue operations.
