UEFA Champions League to Observe One Minute of Silence for Nepal Flood Victims

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has decided to observe a one-minute silence before all Champions League matches to honor the victims of the devastating floods in Nepal. A banner reading “You Are Not Alone Nepal” will also be displayed in tribute to those affected by the floods that struck on August 26. Kathmandu, September 7.

According to UEFA, this moment of silence will be observed before every match. UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin expressed solidarity with the people of Nepal, stating, “Before the matches this week, we will stand united to show our deep sympathy and support for the people of Nepal. We send our strength and best wishes for resilience as they embark on the recovery journey following this tragic event.” The Champions League matches will commence from Tuesday evening.
