
Second ‘Late Sushil Kedia Sports Gala’ Concludes with DAV Blue Crowned Cricket Champions
The second edition of the ‘Late Sushil Kedia Sports Gala’ concluded on Monday at DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwabharati School in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur, which began on August 17. The event saw participation from 1,020 athletes representing 98 schools, competing in various sports. In cricket, the 8th Sushil Kedia Memorial Cup was won by DAV Blue, who defeated DAV Yellow by 30 runs in the final. (September 7, Kathmandu)
Individual awards in the tournament included Shekhar Shah of DAV Blue being named Best Player and Best Batter, Shreyash Awasthi of LRI School as Best Bowler, Ayush Shahi of Himalayan White House IB World School as Emerging Player, and Ronish Karanjit of DAV Yellow as Best Wicketkeeper. In the semi-finals, DAV Blue triumphed over Nepal Police School, while DAV Yellow defeated Himalayan White House International School.
In other sports, Basketball champions were Bal Deepaksha Sadan School with Holy Vision securing second place. In women’s basketball, Gyanade Bal Batika claimed first place, followed by Nisarga Batika. Football titles went to St. Xavier’s (first), Chelsea (second), and EPS School (third). Table Tennis winners were DAV (first), AVM School (second), and Srishti Academy (third). In Badminton, Nepal Police School secured first place, St. Mary’s was second, and Galaxy Public School placed third. Additionally, in Yoga, DAV took first, Asia Pacific was second, and Accidental Public School came third. Taekwondo saw DAV finish first, Srishti Academy second, and Machhapuchhre IB World School third.
