Trump States Only Two Options with Iran: Confrontation or Agreement

US President Donald Trump has stated that there are only two options when dealing with Iran: either to destroy the country or to reach an agreement. He made these remarks during an interview with Fox News regarding the possibility of war with Iran. “The United States faces two choices — to completely destroy Iran, weaken it economically, or to negotiate an agreement,” Trump explained. He emphasized the need to keep Iran under control.

Trump added, “My question is — will I destroy all of Iran? They will have to be kept under control.” Earlier this week, Trump expressed openness to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeskian at the United Nations General Assembly. Despite warnings issued to American citizens in the Middle East, Trump noted that the situation this week remains largely unchanged from the previous one.

In the interview, Trump also claimed that the US maintains ongoing contact with the Houthi rebel group and that they have agreed not to plan attacks against the US. “Some Iranian officials have been hiding in fear. It has been challenging to find someone who can negotiate,” Trump said.
