
Japan Secures First Gold Medal at 20th Asian Games
At the 20th Asian Games held in Japan, Takumi Hojo of Japan won the gold medal in the men’s individual triathlon with a time of 52 minutes and 56 seconds. Zhang Sirui from China took the silver medal, and Arlan Zhanabe from Kazakhstan earned the bronze. With this achievement, Hojo has also qualified for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
In the women’s individual triathlon, Lin Xinyu of China claimed the gold medal with a time of 57 minutes and 37 seconds. She secured both gold and silver medals for China by finishing ahead of Huang Anqi, who won silver. Manami Hayashi of Japan completed the race in 58 minutes and 36 seconds, winning the bronze medal.
