
Gujarat Government to Honor Indian Pilot Smita Maschar with Prestigious Award
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has praised the bravery of Indian pilot Captain Smita Maschar, who protected the lives of passengers during an attack on a plane en route to Israel. The Chief Minister stated on the social media platform X, “Today, the entire world salutes Captain Maschar’s indomitable courage.” He added, “Even while seriously injured and drenched in blood, Captain Smita Maschar demonstrated extraordinary bravery by saving the lives of 174 passengers.” This act is deeply inspiring and commendable.
The Chief Minister highlighted that this courageous son of Gujarat has elevated not only the state’s but also India’s name to a high standing worldwide through his valor. He emphasized that all people of Gujarat take pride in Captain Maschar’s bravery. In recognition of Captain Smita Maschar’s exceptional courage and humanity, the Gujarat government announced it will confer upon him the ‘Distinguished Gujarat Dignity Award.’ The Chief Minister also mentioned that everyone in the state is wishing Captain Maschar a speedy recovery. Meanwhile, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also praised the pilot’s heroic actions.
