Israeli Airstrikes Continue in Southern Lebanon

September 15, Beirut – Israeli attacks have persisted in southern Lebanon on Thursday. The airstrikes targeted various locations across the southern region, involving aerial bombardment, artillery shelling, and machine gun fire. According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), Israeli aircraft launched strikes from the outskirts of Jawatar al-Sharqiya toward the Mayfadon area, while repeated artillery shelling hit Ali al-Taher mountain located on the outskirts of Nabatiyeh al-Fawqa.

Israeli military vehicles advancing through the town of Haddatha in the Bint Jbeil district also reportedly came under machine gun fire. Tensions and conflict have been intensifying along Lebanon’s southern border, with the scope of the attacks widening and residential areas continuously targeted, raising widespread concern. Lebanon and Israel signed an agreement brokered by the United States in June that included provisions for the gradual deployment of Lebanese forces, withdrawal of the occupying military, reconstruction efforts, and measures for economic recovery and security coordination. However, implementation of these provisions has faced significant obstacles to date.
