Child Rescuer Sent Into 70-Meter-Deep Well to Save Another Boy in Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, rescuers were able to save a boy who had fallen into a 70-meter-deep well only after two days. Due to the narrowness of the well preventing other rescuers from entering, 11-year-old Hazrat was lowered down to tie a rope around the body of 5-year-old Jainullah. When Jainullah was pulled out, he was visibly frightened and shivering from the cold inside the well.

This incident occurred in a situation where drought forced people to dig extremely deep wells to access water.
