
Four People Dead in Sri Lanka Due to Floods and Waterlogging Following Heavy Rains
October 5, Colombo (RASS/ Xinhua) – Four people have died in Sri Lanka as a result of heavy rains that triggered floods and water-related incidents. The disasters have also left one person missing and dozens injured. On Sunday, the country’s Disaster Management Centre (DMC) reported that 1,190 families, totaling 4,360 individuals, have been affected by the floods.
The data was collected from 125 divisional secretariat areas across 17 districts. Additionally, the heavy rains have damaged 617 houses.
