Turkish President Erdogan Expresses Concern Over Non-Implementation of International Court Rulings

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed disappointment over the failure of months-long efforts to reopen the obstructed passage in the Strait of Hormuz. Speaking at an international justice conference held in Istanbul, he voiced concerns on the matter. Erdogan highlighted the growing disregard for international agreements and the cessation of enforcement of rulings from international courts. “International agreements have lost their effectiveness. Similarly, rulings issued by international courts are no longer being implemented,” he stated. Criticizing the global order, he added, “If the United Nations system cannot reflect the will of the international community, it cannot be considered legitimate or just.”
