The federation has called on employees operating public transport vehicles under its jurisdiction to treat passengers with courtesy and respect. In a statement released on Sunday, the federation emphasized, “Drivers and conductors of public passenger vehicles must behave disciplinedly and treat passengers with politeness and dignity. When necessary, passengers should be provided stops where restroom facilities and clean, hygienic food arrangements are available.”
Numerous passengers have faced difficulties due to inhumane behavior of public transport staff. Despite sharp criticism, there has been no notable improvement in conduct, leading to increased pressure on transport entrepreneurs for better control. The federation has directed operators to conduct mandatory vehicle inspections before service and ensure their vehicles are clean and presentable.
Additionally, passengers have been advised not to throw litter unnecessarily from windows or use offensive language. Member entrepreneurs are also urged to place dustbins in vehicles for proper waste management. Passenger and cargo vehicles are mandated to park only at designated parking areas. The federation has requested that public vehicles avoid unnecessary parking in road reconstruction zones or other areas to prevent congestion and inconvenience. Furthermore, public transport operators are instructed to fully comply with traffic regulations and start journeys only after obtaining prior information about road conditions en route. The federation has also emphasized that passengers must travel only with valid tickets.
