Macron Calls for Halt to Attacks Targeting Civilian Infrastructure

March 19, Kathmandu – French President Emmanuel Macron has emphasized the need to stop attacks targeting civilian physical infrastructure.

His statement came after reports emerged of extensive attacks on gas production facilities in Iran and Qatar.

Posting on the social media platform X, Macron mentioned his discussions with US President Donald Trump and the Emir of Qatar.

“It is imperative to immediately halt these attacks, particularly those targeting energy and water supply facilities,” he said. “Civilian populations, their basic needs, and energy supply must be protected from military conflicts.”

Earlier, Qatar had identified Iran as a direct threat to the Middle East region and described the missile attack on the industrial city of Ras Laffan as a challenge to its national security and regional stability.

Qatar’s petroleum company reported significant damage resulting from the missile attack.
