Proportional Representation MPs Receive Certificates (Photos)

March 18, Kathmandu – Members of Parliament elected under the proportional representation system in the House of Representatives election held on February 2 have been officially issued their certificates.

The certificate distribution ceremony for the proportional representation MPs from six different parties commenced today at the Election Commission.

The Commission had published the list of 110 proportional representation MPs last Monday. According to the disclosed details, the National Independent Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party) secured 57 seats, Nepali Congress 20, CPN-UML 16, Nepal Communist Party 9, and both the Labor Culture Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) four seats each.

Following the certificate issuance to MPs today, the Election Commission is preparing to submit the comprehensive report of the House of Representatives election 2082 (2026) results to President Ram Chandra Paudel on the same day.

Upon receipt of the election results and the comprehensive report, the path will open for the formation of the government under Article 76(1) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2072 (2015).
