Change These 3 iPhone Camera Settings for Stunning Photos
Kathmandu. Most iPhone users tend to take photos using the camera’s ‘default’ settings. However, the iPhone’s camera hardware is highly impressive, with excellent features hidden within the settings. To immediately enhance your photography, make these 3 setting changes:
1. Enable the ‘Grid’ for better composition. Many photos suffer from poor framing or having the subject simply centered. The grid divides the camera screen into 9 sections, helping you position objects correctly. How to do it? – Go to Settings > Camera and turn on the Grid option.
Benefit: When shooting landscape photos, it becomes easier to keep the horizon straight, and when shooting portraits, aligning the eyes with the upper gridline is simple.
2. Use Photographic Styles. This is different from Instagram filters; it balances color and tone during the photo capture process, making images appear professionally edited. How to do it? – Open the Camera app, tap the icon with 6 dots at the top-right corner, and select your preferred style.
Benefit: ‘Rich Contrast’ deepens shadows, while ‘Warm’ adds a golden glow perfect for sunsets or food photography.
3. Adjust Resolution Settings for maximum detail. The iPhone 14 Pro and later models feature a 48-megapixel camera, but by default, photos are taken at 12 megapixels to save storage. This means you lose about 75% of the potential detail. How to do it? – Go to Settings > Camera > Formats, and enable ‘ProRAW & Resolution Control’.
Benefit: Photos shot at 48 megapixels remain sharp even when cropped, with fine details clearly visible.
These adjustments take less than two minutes but can significantly improve the quality of every photo you take.
