
Nepal Women’s Kabaddi Team Defeated in Asian Beach Games Semifinal, Secures Bronze Medal
In the sixth Asian Beach Games 2026 held in Sanya, China, Nepal’s women’s kabaddi team was defeated by Sri Lanka in the semifinal. The match, played on Sunday, ended with Nepal losing 46-43. Nepal had entered the semifinals as the winner of Group B, having won all three group matches, while Sri Lanka qualified as the runner-up from Group A. Nepal advanced to the semifinals by winning all three matches in Group B. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka reached the semifinals as the runner-up from the three-team Group A. Arvind Jha, General Secretary of the All Nepal Kabaddi Association, explained that Nepal faced difficulties playing two matches on the same day, whereas Sri Lanka had the advantage of two days’ rest, making the contest more challenging. He noted that Nepal played competitively in all matches and had no alternative but to play consecutive games. The Nepali women’s kabaddi team has been delivering strong performances at the international level recently, achieving notable results.
