Woman Injured by Lightning Strike in Rukum East

A 28-year-old woman, Kamala Bik, was injured by a lightning strike accompanied by a storm in Hukam, Ward No. 5 of Putha Uttarganga Rural Municipality, Rukum East. The incident occurred around 3:15 PM on Sunday afternoon while Kamala was cutting grass in the forest at Pigur Leg.

The sudden storm and lightning strike caused serious injuries to Kamala.

According to Kalibhan Bisht, Deputy Coordinator of the Health Section of the Rural Municipality, Kamala received initial treatment at Hukam Health Post. As further treatment was deemed necessary, she was referred to the Rukum East District Hospital.
