Nepali Communist Party Objects to Attempt of Governing by Ordinance, Bypassing Parliament

The Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has expressed strong objection to the attempt to govern through ordinances after suspending the parliamentary session, calling it undemocratic and unacceptable. The NCP’s Coordination Committee meeting demanded an immediate parliamentary session and emphasized the need to include stakeholders’ perspectives and voices in the formulation of critical laws such as the Education Act and the Civil Service Act.

In a cabinet meeting held on Monday, the council decided to recommend two ordinances related to constitutional and cooperative matters to the President. Kathmandu, 15 Baisakh — The NCP completely rejects the attempt to suspend parliament and rule through ordinances, viewing it as a step against democracy.
