National Independent Party Unveils Candidate Selection Process for Local Elections (Full Text)

Committee team handing over the draft report on candidate selection for local level elections to the party chairperson. April 21, Kathmandu. The National Independent Party (Raswapa) has publicized the framework and criteria for selecting candidates for the local level elections. This outline details all the stages and requirements involved in the candidate selection process. Interested candidates must first apply through the ‘Candidate Club,’ where applicants will be evaluated based on a points system under specific categories. The individual scoring the highest points will be given the opportunity to become the candidate. Along with electoral popularity and prospects, the party will assess candidates on public conduct, honesty, financial transparency, freedom from self-interest and conflicts, legal and social credibility, and democratic values, Raswapa stated.
