RJD Candidate PK Praveen Secures First Victory in Kerala Assembly Election

In the Kerala Assembly elections, PK Praveen, the candidate from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has achieved a landmark victory representing the Kuthuparamba constituency for the first time. Praveen defeated Jayanti Rajan of the Indian Union Muslim League by a margin of 1,286 votes. This win marks a significant opportunity for RJD to demonstrate its presence beyond Bihar. RJD has recorded its first-ever win in the Kerala Assembly elections with candidate PK Praveen securing a historic victory from the Kuthuparamba seat. According to the Election Commission, PK Praveen garnered a total of 70,448 votes, while the BJP candidate Sijilal finished third with 22,195 votes.

PK Praveen is a successful businessman who has completed postgraduate and M.Phil. studies at Annamalai University. According to the election affidavit submitted to the Election Commission, he owns assets exceeding Rs. 3.25 crore. This includes movable assets valued at Rs. 1.33 crore and immovable assets worth Rs. 2.05 crore. Political analysts suggest that Praveen’s clean image and strong educational background played a crucial role in gaining voter confidence.

RJD’s presence has been increasing in Kerala. Tejashwi Yadav, former Chief Minister of Bihar and RJD leader, also campaigned supporting the Left Democratic Front (LDF). Earlier, RJD had won several seats in Kerala’s local body elections. According to political experts, this victory in a state like Kerala is symbolically very significant for the party.
