Nepal Cricket Association Urged to Improve Services and Facilities for Cricket Coaches

The Nepal Cricket Coaches Association has called on the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to enhance the services, facilities, allowances, and remuneration provided to cricket coaches. In a letter submitted to the CAN president, the association’s chairman, Jagat Bahadur Tamat, emphasized the significant contribution of coaches. They highlighted that maintaining outdated benefits amidst rising inflation has negatively affected coaches’ morale, stressing the urgent need for improvements in services and facilities. According to the Nepal Cricket Coaches Association, coaches have long been contributing continuously to youth teams, age groups, women’s, and senior men’s teams. They have played a vital role in nurturing many talented players and helping the nation achieve success in both national and international competitions through their hard work and dedication.

However, despite this substantial contribution, the association states that the facilities, allowances, and remuneration received by coaches remain low and insufficient. Highlighting the impact on coaches’ morale, the association has appealed to CAN to improve services and facilities, underscoring the message “Only a strong coaching force can build a strong national cricket.” They have emphasized the need to ensure respect and recognition for coaches as part of this process.
