NCP Lawmaker Bhuvan Bahadur Sunar Criticizes Economic Policy and Program as Weaker and Unclear Compared to Previous Years
NCP lawmaker Bhuvan Bahadur Sunar has criticized the government’s upcoming fiscal year policy and program as directionless. He stated that the policy fails to provide a clear plan on the trajectory of the country’s economy. Sunar also pointed out that the program has not succeeded in inspiring enthusiasm among citizens, nor does it contain plans benefiting the poor segment of society. Kathmandu, 31 Baisakh.
Speaking during the National Assembly’s Thursday meeting where the policy and program were discussed, he remarked that the government’s proposed policy lacks a clear framework to guide the nation’s economic direction. Sunar said, “The government’s upcoming fiscal year’s policy and program do not clearly specify the path for the economy. There should have been a clear plan outlining actions from the first to the fifth year, but such clarity is absent.”
While appreciating the government’s priority in the technology sector as a positive step, Sunar noted that the program ultimately leaves citizens disappointed. He added, “The policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year are even weaker than before. They fail to generate any enthusiasm among the public and do not demonstrate any initiatives aimed at reaching the poor. Therefore, the budget to be presented on Jestha 15 will likely reflect this situation.”
