
Nepali Model Urusha Pandey Competes in Guinness World Record Challenge
Kathmandu. Nepali actress and model Urusha Pandey is currently representing Nepal on the international stage as she attempts to set a Guinness World Record. Once known as the ‘Expression Queen’ in Nepal, Urusha is now actively engaged in acting, directing, and creative fields while studying in the United States, setting her sights on global achievements. She is presently enrolled at Goshen College in the US, majoring in Film and Theater, and has earned a place on the Dean’s List for outstanding academic performance, maintaining a 4.0 GPA alongside her artistic pursuits.
Urusha began her career in Nepal through music videos and later moved to Mumbai, where she worked as a model and appeared in advertisements for Bollywood. She has graced the covers of various prominent magazines in Nepal and India. In Nepal, she has been featured in Kantipur’s “Saptahik” and Nagarik’s “Shukrabar” magazines, while in India, she has appeared in publications such as Women’s Era, The Niche, Spotless Fashion, Desire News, and Drishti Prabha. In the United States, she continues to pursue her acting career diligently.
During her studies at Arkansas State University, Urusha earned acclaim for her performance in the 90-minute solo play “Grounded.” She appeared as the character “Julia” in the play “Estate.” Additionally, she was selected from among 50 competing actresses for the role of “Juliet” in William Shakespeare’s renowned play “Romeo and Juliet.” Currently, at Goshen College, she is preparing to portray the character “Ortolana” in the play “Poor Clare.”
Urusha is not limited to acting; she is also active in writing, directing, and producing. Her projects such as “Two Faced,” “Price of Solitude,” “Who is C?”, and “Welcome Home” have garnered attention. She plans to release a new project titled “Erased: The Final Draft” in 2026. Starting May 2026, she has announced the launch of the “Guinness World Record Series” campaign. As part of this, she aims to deliver 300 monologues in 24 hours, stage the solo play “Kalakar” for the longest consecutive days, perform the longest Indian-style dance, and challenge current record-holder Akshay Kumar through a “Selfie Challenge.” If successful, Hollywood actor Doug Jones is expected to present her with the official certificate. Doug Jones is known for his roles in acclaimed Hollywood films such as “The Shape of Water” and “Pan’s Labyrinth.”
Urusha has expressed pride in representing Nepal in the US both as a student and an artist. She hopes to inspire Nepali young women to showcase their talents on the global stage.
