Teacher Assaults Student at Private School in Chitwan

May 16, Chitwan – A disturbing incident has come to light at Pisland English School located in Basantapur, Madi Municipality-5, Chitwan, where a 14-year-old student was severely beaten by a teacher resulting in visible bruises. Deepson Lamsal, an eighth-grade student, was assaulted by science teacher Bishwo Avatar Ghale using a pipe.

The injured student was taken to Baghuda Hospital for medical examination following the beating.

According to the victim’s family, Deepson and two of his friends had left the classroom to relieve themselves just before the final period on Friday. When they returned, teacher Ghale was already present in the classroom. The family claims the teacher physically punished the students after noticing they had been outside the class. Ghale reportedly assaulted all three students involved.

Deepson’s mother, Padmakumari Lamsal, expressed frustration that despite notifying the school administration about her son’s bruises and injuries, no action was taken. The family has since filed a complaint at the Madi Area Police Office. Senior Deputy Inspector Narayan Joshi from the Madi Police confirmed the complaint has been registered and both parties have been summoned. He stated that a legal investigation will proceed, with further decisions expected after discussions later today.
