Kusal Bhurtel Climbs 17 Places to Enter Top 100 ODI Batters

Kusal Bhurtel, the opening batter of the Nepalese cricket team, has entered the ICC’s top 100 rankings for One Day International (ODI) batting. Previously, Asif Sheikh and Dipendra Singh Airee were the Nepalese players in the top 100. Bhurtel achieved the 100th position after rising 17 places.

On June 6 in Kathmandu, Bhurtel played two matches in the League 2 series held at home against Oman and UAE. Although he was dropped in the morning game, he did not play the first match of the series against Scotland and the USA but got an opportunity in the second match. Taking advantage of that chance, he scored a century, greatly contributing to Nepal’s comfortable victory against the United States.

According to the Wednesday update, Asif Sheikh is ranked 87th, improving by 7 positions, while Dipendra Singh Airee remains steady at 99th. In the all-rounder rankings, Dipendra is placed 25th, and in the bowling rankings, Sandeep Lamichhane holds the 36th position.
