May 23, Kavrepalanchok – Two children lost their lives after drowning in a separated whirlpool of the Sun Koshi River at Sitkha, Sun Koshi-5 in Sindhuli.
According to District Police Chief SP Rabindra Bahadur Singh, the deceased are 9-year-old Safal Pulami Magar, originally from Sun Koshi-4 and currently residing in Bohoretar, Sun Koshi-3, and 10-year-old Yukes Bik, originally from Bandipur, Sun Koshi-5, currently also residing in Bohoretar, Sun Koshi-3.
Police reported that their bodies were found approximately 150 meters downstream east from the spot where they had gone to bathe.
After the two children went missing while bathing, police teams as well as units from the Armed Police Force Nepal’s Disaster Management Base in Khurkot, Sindhuli, were deployed with rescue equipment to conduct search and recovery operations.
