
Colombia Announces Squad Including James Rodríguez for FIFA World Cup 2026
The final squad for Colombia has been announced for the FIFA World Cup 2026, featuring captain James Rodríguez. The 34-year-old midfielder had limited playing time this season due to health issues. After being hospitalized following a friendly match against France in March, Rodríguez has now fully recovered and has been included in the World Cup roster.
Colombia will play friendly matches against Costa Rica on June 1 and against Jordan on June 7. Placed in Group K of the World Cup, Colombia will face Uzbekistan on June 17 in their opening match. Following that, they will compete against DR Congo and Portugal.
The Colombian World Cup squad includes goalkeepers Camilo Vargas, Álvaro Montero, and David Ospina. Defenders named are Davinson Sánchez, Johan Lucumí, Yerry Mina, Willer Ditta, Daniel Muñoz, Santiago Arias, Johan Mojica, and Dáiver Machado.
