May 30, Kathmandu – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has informed that Russia is preparing for another major assault on Ukraine.

Based on intelligence reports about Russia’s preparation of a new and severe attack, Zelensky urged citizens via social media on Friday evening to go to nearby safe locations and remain alert whenever air raid sirens sound. He emphasized the commitment of the country’s air force and security forces to protect the skies 24/7.

This warning comes after Russia targeted the Kyiv region last week with 90 missiles and 600 drones, including the nuclear-capable Oreshniki missile.

European leaders have strongly condemned Russia’s recent use of medium-range ballistic missiles, used for the first time in 2024.

Meanwhile, Zelensky renewed his appeal to the United States for additional Patriot missile defense systems, stressing the critical need to intercept ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones, and aircraft in mid-air.

In a letter addressed to U.S. President Donald Trump, Zelensky requested further ammunition supplies for the system. He wrote, “For a nation fighting for its existence, there is nothing more painful than seeing Patriot missile batteries without missiles.”
