WhatsApp to Introduce Message Scheduling Feature Allowing Timed Message Delivery
WhatsApp is preparing to roll out a significant new feature for its users. This upcoming capability will enable ‘automated message scheduling,’ allowing messages to be sent automatically at a predetermined time without the need for manual intervention. Currently, this feature is being tested in a limited beta version on iOS.
With this feature, users will type their message first and then press and hold the send button to select the desired date and time for the message to be delivered. Scheduled messages will be automatically sent through WhatsApp’s servers at the specified time, even if the mobile device is offline or the app is closed. Additionally, users will have the option to edit or delete the scheduled message before its delivery time. Notably, if a scheduled message is deleted, no notification will be sent. This innovation will free WhatsApp from relying on third-party apps for message scheduling functionality.
