Bellingham’s Goal Restores England’s Lead Against Croatia
June 17, Kathmandu — In the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 match, England has regained the lead against Croatia in the second half. At the Dallas Stadium, Jude Bellingham scored in the 47th minute, putting England ahead 3-2. He converted a pass from Elliott Anderson to score. This marks the third time England has taken the lead in this match.
Earlier, England captain Harry Kane had scored twice to give his team the lead, but Croatia equalized twice during the first half. Kane opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a penalty. Although Croatia’s goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic initially saved Kane’s penalty shot, the penalty was retaken after it was observed that Livakovic had moved forward before the kick. Kane successfully converted the second attempt without error.
The penalty awarded to England resulted from a foul by Croatian captain Luka Modric on Noni Moduakel. Croatia’s Martin Baturina then leveled the score in the 36th minute, with an impressive strike outside the penalty box off a lay-off pass from Peter Susic. Kane restored England’s lead at 42 minutes by scoring from a Declan Rice corner. However, Peter Musala equalized for Croatia in the 5th minute of first-half injury time.
