Martin Baturina of Croatia scored the equalizing goal in the 36th minute. On June 17, in Kathmandu, during the FIFA World Cup 2026 match against England, Croatia managed to level the score. The match, held at Dallas Stadium, saw Baturina net an excellent goal from outside the penalty box following a layoff pass from Petar Susic.
Earlier, England’s captain Harry Kane had put his team ahead by converting a penalty in the 12th minute. Kane’s initial penalty attempt was saved by Croatia’s goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic, but as Livakovic was judged to have moved off his line before the shot, the penalty was retaken. Kane did not falter on the second attempt, successfully scoring. The penalty in favor of England was awarded after Croatia captain Luka Modric fouled Noni Maduakele.
