Lebanon Conflict to Take Center Stage in Iran-US Talks

Iran has announced that the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon will be the main focus of upcoming talks with the United States in Switzerland. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bakai stated that since Israel has violated its commitments to Lebanon, this issue has been designated as the primary agenda for the negotiations. Additionally, discussions will cover the release of Iran’s frozen assets and granting permissions for oil sales.

Tehran, June 27 – Iran has declared that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon will be the central topic in its forthcoming talks with the United States in Switzerland. In a video message released by Iran’s official news agency IRNA, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bakai explained that due to Israel’s breach of its commitments with Lebanon, this matter has been prioritized on the agenda. He further noted that the talks will address the unfreezing of Iran’s restricted assets, issuance of necessary permits for Iranian oil sales, as well as regional security, economic sanctions, and other bilateral concerns between Iran and the US.
