1.35 Million Establishments Nationwide Submit Economic Census Forms
The National Statistics Office reported that under the Second Economic Census, 1,351,167 establishments across the country have submitted census forms as of 7 Ashad. Bagmati Province recorded the highest participation with 393,353 establishments, while Karnali Province had the least with 60,232 participating establishments. The office announced that data processing for the economic census will be completed by the end of Kartik, and publication of results will begin from the end of Magh.
On 8 Ashad, Kathmandu – The field data collection for the Second Economic Census has been completed. According to Dhundhiraj Lamichhane, spokesperson and deputy chief statistician of the National Statistics Office, this year 8,388 establishments took tokens through the “e-Census” system, of which 6,670 establishments fully completed the forms. Establishments that have partially completed data or have yet to submit may still participate by coordinating with the district census offices.
Nationwide, 1,344,661 establishments have submitted paper questionnaires. In the first economic census conducted in 2075 BS, 917,470 establishments completed paper questionnaires, while 5,886 submitted via e-Census in the same year. The on-site enumeration for the national economic census began simultaneously throughout the country on 2 Baishakh.
By provincial breakdown, Bagmati Province leads with 393,353 completed forms. Koshi Province ranks second with 241,502 establishments participating, followed by Lumbini Province with 225,107 establishments submitting forms. Gandaki Province recorded 139,670, Madhesh Province 183,797, Sudurpashchim 1,906, and Karnali Province had 60,232 establishments involved in the census. The office expects all data processing to be completed by the end of Kartik, with results to be published starting from the end of Magh.
