FIFA Suspends All Nepal Football Association
On Wednesday, the FIFA Council Bureau decided to suspend the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) under Article 16 of the FIFA statutes until further notice. Kathmandu, 11 Ashad. The international football governing body, FIFA, has suspended ANFA. The suspension decision was made under Article 14 of FIFA’s statutes by the FIFA Council Bureau.
With this suspension, ANFA has lost all membership rights granted under Article 13 of the FIFA statutes. During the suspension period, neither ANFA’s representative teams nor club teams will be allowed to participate in international competitions, FIFA stated. Additionally, neither ANFA nor any affiliated members or officials will be entitled to benefit from any development programs, trainings, or courses organized by FIFA or the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
As a result of this suspension, Nepal’s national team and club teams will be barred from participating in international events. Financial assistance from FIFA and AFC will also be halted. ANFA and its officials will be excluded from participating in FIFA and AFC development initiatives. FIFA noted that this suspension may be lifted at any time by the FIFA Council Bureau or the FIFA Council before the next FIFA Congress convenes.
