Argentina Advances to Knockout Stage Undefeated

In the final group stage match held on Sunday morning at Dallas Stadium, Argentina defeated Jordan 3–1 to advance to the knockout phase. The defending champions entered the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage undefeated. Argentina secured their win over Jordan with a decisive 3–1 goal margin in the last group match.

For Argentina, goals were scored by Giovani Lo Celso, Lautaro Martínez, and Lionel Messi, each contributing one goal. Jordan’s Musa Al-Tamari scored a consolation goal. In the 19th minute, Giovani scored from a free kick, giving Argentina the initial lead. Then, in the 31st minute, Martínez doubled Argentina’s advantage with a penalty goal.

Jordan’s Al-Tamari tried to bring his team back into the game by scoring in the 55th minute.
