The ‘Wife Carrying World Championship’ took place this year in Sonkajärvi, Finland, featuring participants from 12 countries.
The event included 60 couples competing in individual races and six teams participating in the team event.
First held in 1996, this competition was postponed for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This edition marked the 29th running of the event.
Among the diverse participants, there was even a woman who carried her husband weighing 135 kilograms.
