Death Toll from Earthquake in Venezuela Reaches 3,889

National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez has announced that the powerful earthquake in Venezuela has resulted in 3,889 deaths. In addition, 16,740 people have been injured and 17,907 have been left homeless. Following the earthquakes of magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 on June 24, 190 buildings were completely destroyed, and relief efforts are ongoing.

Jorge Rodriguez reported via his Telegram channel that 856 buildings have sustained severe damage due to the earthquake. During rescue operations, 6,462 individuals have been safely evacuated. Furthermore, 28,836 people have received treatment at hospitals and health facilities. So far, aid has been provided to 86,794 families. A total of 9,603 tons of food supplies have been distributed to those affected.

The powerful earthquakes struck on the evening of June 24. Two seismic shocks with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 were recorded within a 40-second interval. The epicenter was located approximately 10 kilometers from the state of Yaracuy.
