Monsoon Rains in Pakistan Cause Nine Deaths

In the past 24 hours, nine people have died due to incidents related to monsoon rains in Pakistan. According to the National Disaster Management Authority, the total number of casualties due to rains since June 26 has reached 47. Islamabad, July 20.

The authority reported that floods and landslides have damaged 178 houses and injured 123 people. Among the latest casualties, six are from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the northwest and three from Kashmir.

Since the beginning of the monsoon season, 123 people have been injured, 178 houses damaged, and approximately 3.42 kilometers of roads affected. The NDMA has urged residents of the affected areas to remain vigilant against risks posed by floods, landslides, and heavy rains, as monsoon rainfall is forecasted to continue in the coming days.
