23rd Pulsar Sports Awards Scheduled for September 4 in Kathmandu

The 23rd edition of the Pulsar Sports Awards, a premier Nepalese sports event organized by the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF), will be held on September 4, 2025. Announced on August 22 in Kathmandu, the NSJF revealed the date and details of the main sponsorship agreement. The award ceremony is set to take place at the Blue Pavilion of the Nepal Police Club located on Exhibition Road.

After being grandly hosted in Pokhara last year for the first time outside Kathmandu, this year’s Pulsar Sports Awards will again honor players, coaches, and sports professionals. Awards will be presented across nine categories, including Best Male Athlete of the Year, Best Female Athlete of the Year, Best Young Athlete of the Year, Best Coach of the Year, People’s Choice Award, Para Athlete Recognition, Special Award, Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Asian Sports Journalist Award.

The nomination process will be announced shortly, with five nominees selected in each category. Winners will receive a Pulsar motorcycle, and other category winners will receive prize money of NPR 100,000. An organizing committee led by NSJF President Niranjan Adhikari has been formed. Last year’s winners included cricketer Dipendra Singh Airee, karateka Arika Gurung, cricketer Puja Mahato, and coach Kaviraj Negi.

Continuing its collaboration with Golcha Group, the forum has signed an agreement to secure sponsorship of NPR 1.7 million in cash along with five motorcycles. In total, sponsorships amounting to NPR 4.5 million have been confirmed, according to Golcha Group Director Abhimanyu Golcha.
