Vijay’s Party Strongly Condemns Rahul Gandhi’s Detention, Demands NEET Exam Cancellation

The Tamilaga Vetri Kadgam (TVK) has strongly condemned the detention of opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, calling it an attack on democratic rights. The party criticized the mental pressure on students caused by the NEET exam and questioned its credibility, urging the central government to abolish the exam. The party of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has expressed strong criticism over the detention of Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi. Tamilaga Vetri Kadgam stated that the arrest and handcuffing of Rahul Gandhi constitutes a direct attack on democratic rights. The party wrote on social media platform X, “Suppressing democracy in the nation’s capital is highly condemnable. Detaining and handcuffing Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, who had come to support the peaceful protest of the youth in Delhi, is a direct assault on democratic freedoms. We strongly condemn this.”

The party further stated, “Since the implementation of the NEET exam, questions have been raised about its credibility. Additionally, persistent mental stress is increasing among students. Their dreams for the future are under serious threat.” The party added, “No steps have been taken to prevent the harm caused to students by the NEET exam each year. Therefore, we strongly demand that the central government completely abolish the NEET examination.” Under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, Congress MPs protested on Tuesday demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
