Nepal’s Women’s Volleyball Team Placed in Group A with Japan and Indonesia for Asian Games 2026

Nepal’s women’s volleyball team has been drawn into Group A alongside Japan and Indonesia for the Asian Games 2026, set to take place in Japan. Based on world rankings, the Nepali team will participate in the Asian Games for the second consecutive time. Currently engaged in specialized training under the ‘Mission 2026’ program, Nepal aims to deliver a competitive performance at the event. Kathmandu, July 23.

During the draw held on Thursday for the Asian Games 2026 volleyball tournament, Nepal was grouped with host country Japan and Indonesia in the women’s group stage. Japan, a major Asian volleyball power, and Indonesia, a recognized competitive team from Southeast Asia, will be Nepal’s opponents in Group A. Nepal has secured its spot among Asia’s top 16 teams based on their global ranking and is currently positioned 68th worldwide.

Japan holds the sixth position globally, while Indonesia is ranked 60th. Meanwhile, Nepal’s women’s team, now preparing rigorously under ‘Mission 2026,’ aims to elevate their level on the international stage with a challenging and strong showing at the Asian Games.
