
Smart Choice Technologies Achieves ISO/IEC 27001:2022 International Information Security Certification for 2022
Smart Choice Technologies has been awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for information security. This recognition confirms that the company’s information security system is effectively operated according to international standards. Chief Executive Officer Manoj Ghimire stated that this achievement reaffirms the organization’s commitment to strengthening the digital payment ecosystem. Kathmandu, 22 July – Smart Choice Technologies (SCT), a Payment System Operator (PSO) licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank, has obtained the prestigious international information security certification, ISO/IEC 27001:2022. According to the company, this certification validates that the Information Security Management System (ISMS) implemented at SCT is effectively maintained in compliance with global standards.
The organization has demonstrated adoption of high-level information security practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data for its customers, member banks and financial institutions, payment service providers, partner organizations, and other stakeholders. Previously, SCT had already acquired PCI DSS Version 4.0.1 and PCI 3DS certifications in line with international card payment industry security standards. With the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification, the company’s commitment to information security, cybersecurity, risk management, and secure digital payment infrastructure is further reinforced.
The company noted that these certifications will confirm that SCT’s operational system meets international security standards, thereby enhancing trust among member banks, financial institutions, payment service providers, merchants, and users. On this occasion, SCT’s CEO Manoj Ghimire described the achievement of ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification as a highly significant milestone. He said, “Along with previously obtained certifications such as PCI DSS 4.0.1 and PCI 3DS, this success strengthens our institution’s long-term dedication to information security.”
