Nepal Promoted as a Safe and Year-Round Travel Destination in Japan

The Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines Corporation, and PATA Nepal Chapter have jointly promoted Nepal as a safe and perennial travel destination in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan. During the tourism promotion and B2B event held from April 2 to 5, direct dialogue and collaboration between Nepali and Japanese tourism professionals were significantly enhanced. Nepal Airlines presented updated information on the Japan-Nepal flight network and discussed plans to expand air connectivity. Kathmandu, March 23.

Organized jointly by the Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Airlines Corporation, and PATA Nepal Chapter, the promotion campaign in Tokyo and Osaka highlighted Nepal as a safe, unique, and accessible year-round destination. The tourism promotion and B2B events held from April 2 to 5 facilitated direct interactions, cooperation, and business networking between Nepalese and Japanese tourism industry representatives, which Nepal Tourism Board acknowledged as a substantial contribution. The initiative aimed to promote Nepal as a leading tourism destination and rapidly strengthen its presence in the Japanese market.

At the session in Tokyo, Hariharakant Paudel, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Nepali Embassy, emphasized the critical role such programs play in promoting Nepal’s tourism in international markets. At the same event, Ranu Shah, Senior Manager at the Tourism Board, presented Nepal’s cultural heritage, popular destinations, adventure tourism, and wellness experiences. The presentation underscored Nepal as a safe destination with a distinct identity that is accessible throughout the year, which is expected to help build a positive image of Nepal in global markets.

Furthermore, the event is anticipated to be instrumental in developing special tourism packages targeting Japanese tourists. Nepal Airlines Corporation provided updated information regarding the Japan-Nepal flight network and discussed expansion of air connectivity with Nepal. The program saw notable participation from Japanese tour operators, travel agencies, and media professionals. The interaction provided opportunities to exchange information about Nepal’s tourism products, services, and potential, fostering new partnerships.

Participating Nepali tourism business companies included Heritage Tours and Travels, Alpine Rescue Services, Club Himalaya, Himalayan Holidays Trekking, High Ground Adventure, Arya Hotel and Spa, Real Adventure Nepal, Hotel Jampa, Majestic Lakefront, Khumbila Hotel, Off the Wall Trekking, and Cho Oyu Trekking. This initiative is expected to strengthen Nepal’s tourism market expansion, enhance international partnerships, and firmly establish Nepal as a preferred destination for Japanese tourists.
