Iran Accuses US of Violating Three Terms of Ceasefire Agreement
Kathmandu, March 10 – Iran has accused the United States of violating three terms of their ceasefire agreement, also citing ongoing attacks in Lebanon. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, stated that these violations occurred even before the peace talks could commence, referring to a 10-point proposal that had been agreed upon for negotiations. He said, “Although the US President claimed the 10-point proposal with Iran as the basis for talks, three of its terms have already been breached.”
Ghalibaf criticized the US for its lack of reliability, claiming that America has repeatedly broken its commitments, returning to old practices. Reports highlight that the first term of the ceasefire concerning Lebanon has not been upheld. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, has urged for an immediate ceasefire across all locations.
Additionally, an unauthorized drone intrusion occurred within Iranian airspace. According to reports, the drone was shot down in Lar city within Fars Province and was regarded as a violation of Iran’s air sovereignty. Ghalibaf further stated that Iran has been deprived of its right to enrichment activities, which is stipulated in the sixth term of the proposal. He emphasized that when the conditions outlined for talks are violated beforehand, engaging in bilateral ceasefire or negotiations is unreasonable. In this context, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited representatives from the warring United States and Iran to Islamabad for talks scheduled on April 10.
