Human Rights Commission Urges Government to Identify and Manage Genuine Squatters
The Human Rights Commission has called on the government to identify genuine squatters and manage their situation appropriately. Shyambabu Kafle, the commission’s assistant spokesperson, highlighted the government’s decision to remove squatters’ homes along the Bagmati River and other locations, urging careful attention to this matter.
The commission has also sent a letter to the government requesting information on the implementation of its previous recommendations regarding this issue. The government is preparing to clear squatter settlements from various parts of Kathmandu starting tomorrow morning and has instructed to vacate these areas.
