In last night’s final match, Peshawar Zalmi overcame Hyderabad Kingsmen by 5 wickets to claim the championship. Hardy emerged as the hero for Peshawar, delivering the best bowling performance of his career with 4 wickets for 27 runs in 4 overs. His bowling effort restricted Hyderabad to just 129 runs—a record-low total for a PSL final.

Chasing the target, Hardy remained unbeaten on 56 runs off 39 balls, guiding his team to victory. Hyderabad Kingsmen got off to a promising start, scoring 69 runs for the loss of 2 wickets during the powerplay. Saeem Ayub contributed 54 runs off 50 balls, while Marnus Labuschagne added 20 runs. However, the Kingsmen innings collapsed suddenly thereafter.

In the death overs, Hardy took key wickets including that of Ayub, preventing Hyderabad from building a substantial partnership and limiting them to a modest total. Peshawar’s chase did not begin smoothly; they lost 4 wickets for 40 runs, initially falling under pressure. Mohammad Ali claimed an early wicket for Hyderabad. However, Hardy and Abdul Samad forged a crucial 85-run partnership that turned the game in Zalmi’s favor. Samad played an aggressive innings, scoring 48 runs off 34 balls, while Hardy maintained composure to see the chase through to the end. After Samad was dismissed, Peshawar reached the target in the very next over to lift the trophy.

With this victory, Peshawar Zalmi become multiple-time PSL champions, winning their second title since 2017. Before them, only Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars have won the PSL championship more than once. Although Hyderabad Kingsmen fell short, their journey was historic—they became the first team in PSL history to qualify for the playoffs after losing their first four matches of the season.
