
Commitment to Publish Results Within 100 Days for Structural and Examination System Reforms
Prof. Dr. Dipak Aryal, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, resigned on 17th Baisakh after leading the institution for 9 months and 24 days. During his tenure, he claimed to have worked on structural reforms within the university, improvements to the examination system, and the expansion of online services. Aryal also mentioned the formation of various committees aimed at protecting university land, upgrading campus facilities, and simplifying service delivery. (21st Baisakh, Kathmandu)
Dr. Aryal was appointed Vice-Chancellor by then Prime Minister and Chancellor KP Oli on 25th Asar 2082. Although his term was set for four years, he stepped down on 17th Baisakh following the formation of a new government. Emphasizing that he maintained neutrality, he stated, “I have made an honest effort to perform my duties with dignity and fairness without any political favoritism or misuse of position.”
Dr. Aryal publicly shared the reform initiatives undertaken during his tenure. He explained that structural and administrative reforms were instituted to enhance the quality of education at Tribhuvan University. Under examination system reforms, he introduced an academic calendar to ensure that results are published within 100 days from the conclusion of exams. Additionally, he noted that the Information and Innovation Center was strengthened to preserve university records and to expand and reinforce online services. Efforts were also made to promote professional development for teachers and staff, while ensuring transparency and fairness in performance management.
