
Kazakhstan Defeats India in Straight Sets to Reach Final of Kathmandu Women’s Volleyball Championship
May 28, Kathmandu – Kazakhstan secured a spot in the final of the Kathmandu Women’s Volleyball Championship by defeating India in straight sets. The first semifinal match was held on Thursday at the Dasarath Rangashala Covered Hall in Tripureshwor, where Kazakhstan handed undefeated India a straight-set loss.
Kazakhstan took an early lead by winning the first set 25-21. Maintaining strong pressure in the second set, Kazakhstan overcame India’s challenge to clinch the set 25-17, establishing a 2-0 lead. In the third set, Kazakhstan dominated with a one-sided performance, comfortably winning 25-14.
India had topped Group A after winning all three matches, while Kazakhstan finished as runners-up in Group B with two wins and one loss. Kazakhstan will now face the winner of the second semifinal between Iran and Nepal B, scheduled for Thursday evening at 5 p.m. The final match is set to take place on Friday.
